Dental Veneer Procedure and Assessment
Veneer Consultation and Treatment Process at Bespoke Smile
Your veneer journey at Bespoke Smile is carefully planned around you from the very first step. From the shape and proportions of your teeth to your facial features, bite and personal preferences, every detail is considered to create a smile that feels balanced, natural and entirely your own.
Whether your treatment involves our signature Feather Veneers or another carefully selected veneer solution, our signature Smile Sculpting process gives you clarity and control throughout your treatment. You will have the opportunity to understand your options, experience your smile through a handcrafted Trial Smile, and refine the design before your final veneers are created.
From your first consultation, each step is carefully considered to make sure your final smile feels completely your own.
Initial Consultation and Smile Discovery
Your initial consultation is designed to give us a complete understanding of you, your smile and what you would like to achieve. We take the time to explore your concerns, preferences and expectations in detail, so that any recommendations we make feel considered, appropriate and entirely personal to you.
Our Smile Advisors conduct a detailed health assessment, including a gum assessment and analysis of your bite. We also consider how different smile styles, proportions and shapes work with your individual facial features, helping us begin to define a result that feels balanced, natural and unmistakably yours.
We then complete your Cosmetic Smile Analysis, which can include X-rays and digital scans to get a full picture of your complete oral situation. This level of detail allows us to plan with greater precision and identify the most suitable treatment options before any decisions are made.
This consultation forms the foundation of your Bespoke Smile journey. By combining clinical assessment with a detailed understanding of your aesthetic goals, we create a carefully considered treatment plan that reflects both what you want from your smile and what will work beautifully for you.
Hand-Crafting Your Trial Smile
A Hand-Made Trial Smile is a bespoke process you won’t find anywhere else, allowing you to experience your proposed veneers before your final restorations are created.
Over a few weeks, you can see how your new smile looks, feels and moves in everyday life.
We then assess the shape, symmetry, angles, feel, bite, and texture of the Trial Smile, while refining any individual characteristics you would like to incorporate into your final veneers.
Why the Trial Smile Is Essential for Natural-Looking Veneers
The Trial Smile allows you to experience and refine veneers before your final restorations are created. This is a critical part of achieving a result that feels natural, allowing you to assess how your new smile looks, feels, and whether the overall result reflects what you hoped to achieve.
You then return to us with your feedback, allowing us to make refinements based on your thoughts and feelings. This additional stage of design and collaboration helps us create a result that feels balanced and beautifully natural.
Bespoke Shade Matching and Veneer Customisation
Having lived with your new smile for a period of time, this return visit allows us to review your hand-crafted veneer design. You’ll be given the opportunity to further amend and tailor your smile to exactly what you are looking for.
We will repeat the process of assessing the shapes, symmetry, angles, feel, bite, and texture from your Trial Smile and make a final decision on the bespoke features and final colour that you would like to include in your permanent, ultra-thin veneers.
Final Veneer Fitting and Bite Balancing
At your final appointment, your Trial Smile is carefully removed, and your final veneers are fitted. We’ll complete a detailed bite assessment and balancing process so that your new smile feels comfortable, functions beautifully and supports the long-term health and stability of your mouth.
Each veneer is individually handcrafted by our expert ceramists using carefully selected porcelain to achieve the natural translucency, texture and character we have planned throughout your journey.
Veneer assessment and planning FAQs
Do natural teeth need to be shaved down for a veneer assessment or Trial Smile?
No, your natural teeth are preserved during the assessment and Trial Smile stages. Our signature Trial Smile is created over your existing teeth using temporary resin, allowing you to preview your new smile completely painlessly.
How much does a veneer consultation cost, and can I spread the payments?
Our Smile Discovery consultations are completely free and no-obligation. During this first consultation, we provide a complete breakdown of your bespoke treatment plan and costs. We also offer 0% finance options for up to 24 months, allowing you to spread the cost of your treatment.
How long do veneers last?
When designed by our expert ceramists and properly maintained, our porcelain veneers can typically last 10 to 20 years. Long-term durability depends on good home oral hygiene, annual dental check-ups, and routine professional hygienist visits to ensure the underlying tooth and gums remain healthy.
Is the veneer fitting process painful?
No, the process is designed to be comfortable and pain-free. The initial consultation, digital scans, and Trial Smile application require no invasive procedures. During the final fitting, local anaesthetic can be used if needed, though many ultra-thin veneer fittings require minimal to no anaesthetic at all.
