How Much Does a Full Set of Veneers Cost in the UK?

17/10/2023

Veneers are a popular cosmetic dentistry solution to improve the look of your smile, but the cost of a set of veneers will vary depending on the type of treatment you require and which dental practice you visit. The skill and experience level of the dentist and dental technicians will also affect the final amount you pay for a full set of veneers!

Full breakdown of veneers costs

The cost of a full set of veneers largely depends on the material and technique used. Porcelain veneers are usually more costly than their composite veneer alternative. Porcelain veneers offer a more natural look and greater durability, lasting 10 – 20 years, while composite veneers tend to last from 4 to 8 years.

Cost for a full set of veneers in the UK

Dentists typically charge per tooth, with composite veneers costing between £150 – £400 and porcelain veneers ranging from £800 – £2000 per tooth. Other factors such as the dentist’s expertise, the location and the complexity of treatment, and the lab used can also influence the final price.

You won’t typically get veneers on every tooth, with most people opting for veneers on the most visible teeth. This is usually the top and bottom, making a total of 6-10 veneers. This means the cost for getting veneers ranges between £2,400 – £6,400 for composite veneers. Porcelain veneers are higher at around £12,800 – £32,000 for a full 6-10-tooth treatment.

How much do veneers cost on the NHS?

Veneers are commonly used for cosmetic or non-essential reasons and therefore very few NHS dental practices offer them. They are a ‘Band 3’ treatment and some forms of veneers are used for health or functional reasons within the NHS; you will only be referred to the NHS if your dentist decides there is a clinical need for them. Why veneer costs can vary

While we can give a rough estimate, it’s important to understand that cosmetic dental treatment isn’t as simple as picking from a price list.

Veneers are not a one-size-fits-all solution. Each smile is unique, and your treatment will be carefully planned around your individual needs, goals, and oral health. Factors like the number of veneers, the materials used, any necessary preparatory work, and the complexity of your case all influence the final cost.

While porcelain and composite are the most common options, there are several different types of veneers available, each suited to different needs and budgets.
