Everyone’s talking about…

Vaping can ruin your smile

Using e-cigarettes to quit smoking? You could be putting your oral health at risk, says research from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, US. Findings show that people who vape are 19% more at risk of cavities than those who don’t.

This is because after inhaling the vape, the sticky and sugary content of the vaping liquid sticks to the teeth, causing damage. ‘Vaping can also decrease saliva and cause dry mouth, which is a know cause of cavities,’ says dentist Dr Sam Jethwa. ‘Saliva helps to neutralise the acid that can decay toothe enamel.’

Drink water after vaping, and visit your dentists regularly.
