1. Polynucleotides & Regenerative Medicine
A buzzword in skincare, polynucleotides are only set to rise in popularity over the next year. ‘The rise of regenerative medicine has been revolutionary in the aesthetics industry,’ highlights Dr Brendan Khong, founder and Medical Director at Dr BK Aesthetics Clinic. ‘Instead of treating just the symptoms, such as crepe-y skin, wrinkles and fine lines, the focus has changed to target the fibroblast cells that become lazy as we age.
‘Polynucleotides, such as Nucleofill, have become incredibly popular with men,’ he continues. ‘The beauty of polynucleotides is that it is not a filler and is perfect for those who are afraid of ever looking “done”. Polynucleotides stimulate fibroblast cells to produce collagen and elastin, increase neovascularisation, resulting in a lifted, rejuvenated and healthy skin.’
Our experts also pinpoint a greater concern for the eye area as one of the main driving forces of this trend. ‘Tired and ageing eyes can be a key concern for men,’ explains Dr Leah Totton, founder of Dr Leah Cosmetic Skin Clinics. ‘The demand for males seeking treatments that allow for subtle results that will refresh the eye area has increased in the last half of 2024, and is set to continue rising through 2025.’
But what exactly does the treatment entail? ‘Polynucleotides are a regenerative treatment, where genetic strands taken from salmon fish are injected into the skin,’ Dr Totton says. ‘Polynucleotide treatment works with the body’s DNA to promote skin regeneration. This stimulates collagen and elastin production, which are essential proteins for maintaining the skin’s structure and elasticity and work to treat fine lines and dark eye circles. This is something that makes the treatment popular amongst men – as many do no not want instant, drastic results. Two treatments are required, each one month apart, with best results after the second treatment.’
2. Exosomes With Microneedling
Dr Khong also sees men taking more steps to improve their complexion in 2025. ‘Men typically have oiler skin that is prone to breakouts, more pigmentation and textural issues,’ he notes. ‘These concerns can be treated with a professional microneedling pen with exosomes. The action of microneedling itself can stimulate collagen and elastin, and, coupled with exosomes, the stimulation increases exponentially.’
Speaking further on mechanics of exosome treatments, he continues, ‘Exosomes are nanovesicles that cells use to communicate with each other. The serum that I have chosen is the first in the world that utilises synthetic (manmade) exosomes (V tech serum) made in-lab, which encapsulate polynucleotides and peptides. This makes it both safe and effective.’
3. Facial Fat Preservation
We’re also saying goodbye to the buccal fat removal trend of 2024 – instead, it’s all about natural-looking, filler alternatives. ‘More men are opting to go dermal filler free or only want dermal filler to be used very sparingly,’ says Dr Khong. ‘Enter treatments that can produce a filler-like effect without the risk of looking done.
‘As we age, facial fat pads change in morphology – moving downwards and shrinking – which can cause one’s face to sage or sink,’ he continues. ‘For men, this can mean a loss of the sharp, defined jawline and the development of a double chin and jowls.’
Dr Khong mentions that the two treatments most suited to this request are polynucleotides and profhilo structura. ‘Polynucleotides can reduce lipolysis (breakdown of fat) and promotes lipogenic effect (maintaining fat cells) when introduced specifically into the subcutaneous fat tissue,’ he says. ‘While profhilo structura is the first product that is indicated to be injected into the fat pads of the face, regenerating and repositioning the fat layers. Introduced into the facial fat pad with a cannula, this can help to restore facial structures in areas that have age-related subcutaneous atrophy.’
4. Body Treatments
But it’s not just the face that’s bearing the brunt of 2025’s new wave of men’s tweakment trends. ‘There has been a marked rise in the number one men enquiring about body treatments,’ says Dr Khong. ‘From skin tightening treatments to peels to fat dissolving treatments, more men are looking to fine tune their physique, which coincides with the rise of the superhero physique and social media.
‘A common combination that I perform in clinic includes fat dissolving and body Morpheus8 (microneedling with radio frequency),’ he adds. ‘These fat dissolving injections contain deoxycholic acid break down stubborn pockets of fat that doesn’t seem to shift, despite diet and exercise, while body Morpheus8 gives an instant and long term skin tightening effect.’
5. A Naturally Elevated Smile
Dental tweakments are also set to have a big moment. ‘More men are now realising that a beautiful smile is synonymous with both health and confidence,’ emphasises Dr Sam Jethwa, cosmetic dentist, founder of Bespoke Smile and the President of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. ‘There is a huge demand for men who are looking to enhance their natural smile rather than totally transform (mostly aged 25 to 35). This could be to address imperfections such as cracks, chips or discoloration. At Bespoke Smile, we have a treatment called micro sculpting. Micro-sculpting uses a micro layer of resin which is carefully tailored to match the colour and texture of the tooth, before being gently sculpted to it.
‘It is usually applied to the area of the tooth that requires it, for example a chipped tooth, or gaps in between teeth,’ he continues. ‘In some cases it is applied to the whole tooth. The resin, which is a bit like putty, is carefully moulded to the correct shape before being exposed to a UV light which cures the resin, making it set.’
6. Preventative Hair Loss Treatments
Let’s face it: one of the biggest aesthetic concerns for men is hair loss. And with awareness of what treatments are available to tackle the issue on the rise, we’re seeing a growth towards preventative care. ‘In 2025, we can expect to see a noticeable shift toward preventative hair loss treatments for men,’ confirms Dr Karen Doherty, aesthetics practitioner and founder of DR KD. ‘Instead of opting for hair transplants directly, more men are beginning to explore preventative options first, including clinical treatments and effective, results-driven products for home use.
‘Many at-home products are now being formulated with a potent infusion of ingredients that were once typically reserved for skincare, including hyaluronic acid, salicylic acid and growth factors,’ she continues. ‘They’ve all been carefully selected to create a healthy scalp environment that promotes stronger, healthier hair.’
7. Minimal Downtime Procedures
Our experts also predict a move towards non-invasive tweakments with little downtime, with men supporting a trend for ‘quiet’ (aka, subtle) procedures. ‘Non-invasive treatments, like Botox, fillers and energy-based device therapy, are becoming increasingly popular among men,’ confirms Dr Elif Benar, a dermatologist and founder Dr Elif Clinic. ‘These treatments offer quick results with minimal recovery time, fitting well with busy lifestyles.
‘Men are becoming more open to aesthetic treatments, but many prefer discreet, subtle enhancements without significant downtime,’ she says. ‘Non-invasive procedures provide a practical solution, allowing men to look refreshed and youthful without interrupting their daily routines.’
8. Natural-Looking Enhancements
And one of the biggest trends remains the desire for ‘natural-looking’ results. ‘The demand for authenticity and subtlety in appearance is influencing men’s aesthetic preferences,’ says Dr Benar. ‘Men are looking for ways to look refreshed and youthful without losing their natural look, and treatments like “Brotox” (Botox tailored for men) and minimal fillers align well with this desire for understated results.
‘Male patients are increasingly seeking Brotox and subtle filler applications to reduce signs of aging without looking overly “done”,’ she continues. ‘This trend emphasises enhancing natural features rather than making drastic changes.’
9. Masculinising Injectables
Coming off the back of Brotox, this upcoming trend uses fillers not only to reduce the signs of aging, but also enhance more traditional ‘masculine’ features. ‘Injectable treatments like “masculinising” dermal fillers to define the jawline and chin are set to rise in popularity in 2025,’ confirms Dr Nyla Raja, cosmetic doctor, dermatologist and founder of Dr Nyla Medispa. ‘Men today are not seeking to transform their faces, but to enhance natural structures subtly. By sculpting and contouring these areas, we can create a more chiselled look while keeping the results understated.’
Dr Jonathan Dunne, a consultant plastic surgeon and founder of Montrose London, especially sees this becoming the case around the jawline. ‘Precision fillers in the jawline are at the top of male requests, as men seek a defined, chiselled look,’ he emphasises. ‘Using long-lasting fillers like Radiesse or Juvederm Volux, we can build a stronger, more angular jawline in a single session. Men are drawn to this tweakment because it’s quick and (provided you are in expert hands) offers a noticeable improvement without looking “done”.’
10. Preventative Skincare Treatments
And finally, skincare-led tweakments are also set to prevail as a top trend for men in 2025. ‘Preventative skincare treatments, such as LED light therapy and resurfacing facials, are also gaining traction as men become more proactive in maintaining their skin health,’ notes Dr Raja. ‘Looking and feeling refreshed is a priority, and I believe 2025 will see men embracing tweakments that enhance their unique features without compromising their natural look.’
